Common Questions About Working at McQuillin Tree
Do I need experience to apply?
Not necessarily. For ground crew positions, we're willing to train the right person from the ground up. For climbing and equipment roles, some experience is expected. Either way, tell us where you're at and we'll go from there.
What does a typical workday look like?
We run jobs Monday through Saturday, generally starting early. Most days involve driving to a job site, working as a team through the job, cleaning up, and moving on. Days vary depending on what's booked, but we aim to keep things organized and predictable.
What do I need to bring on day one?
A valid driver's license, work boots, and a willingness to follow direction. We supply the equipment and protective gear.
Is this seasonal work?
No. We work year-round. There may be slower stretches, but we're not a company that lays off crew every winter and rehires in spring.
What's the pay?
Pay is based on your experience and the role. We're happy to talk numbers during the conversation — we won't waste your time.
Do you offer any kind of training?
Yes. If you're newer to tree work, you'll learn on the job alongside experienced crew members. Safety training is part of how we operate, not an afterthought.
