McQuillin Tree Care is a second-generation, family-owned tree service company based in Delta, Ohio, serving Northwest Ohio since 1984. Founded by my father with a simple goal of providing honest, professional tree care rooted in integrity and hard work, we continue that legacy today while embracing modern equipment, safety standards, and sustainable practices.

Delta sits in Fulton County, on the flat lake plain left behind by the Great Black Swamp. The soil here is heavy clay that drains slowly, and less than five percent of the county is still forested, so the mature trees in yards and along streets carry real value. That same clay is why so many calls come in after a wet spring. Saturated ground keeps root plates shallow, and shallow anchorage is what turns a strong wind into a leaning tree or a failed limb.
The species mix tells the same story. Silver maple grows quickly here and its wood is brittle enough to break in a storm. Swamp white oak handles the wet ground better. Ash has been hit hard by emerald ash borer since it reached Ohio in 2003, and untreated ash usually die within three to five years, leaving brittle standing deadwood that needs careful removal. Where a tree is past saving, tree removal is the safer option.
